Take a look at some of our past activities and accomplishments:

  • The inaugural 1997 Summit focused on land use, growth management, and transportation concerns.
  • The 2000 Summit focused on Transportation, working regionally, ways to increase and facilitate multi-county cooperation, looked hart at multi-modalism in freight and rail passenger possibilities.
  • We held county by county rollouts of our Land Use Planning "bible".
  • We held several agriculture seminars looking at new products (blueberries and so forth), new production methods (e.g. mechanized orchard tending), new markets, ways to enhance farmers markets, etc.
  • We held a number of Housing events focusing on predatory lending in some and Service assisted housing in others.
  • We held three History, Heritage, and Culture workshops--in Cumberland, Lancaster, and York Counties with support from WITF.
  • We held other transportation events and public infrastructure planning and funding events.
  • We held several events on regional policing.
  • We held a number of health events, including one on the Avian Flu Pandemic.
  • We conducted building code workshops.
  • We expanded some of our board meetings to showcase and focus on county concerns.
  • We did regional workshops on downtown marketing in conjunction with our report on regional downtown retail.
  • The KOZ focused regional investment and renewal efforts in conjunction with each participating county chamber and the EDA.
