Health and Human Service Committee

Future meetings: 1st Wednesday of every month at 10 a.m.

Mission Statement (draft of 2/4/2004)

To identify current and future needs of the public in The South Central Region of Pennsylvania (8 counties) and to make recommendations to the Board of the Assembly for action. 

 

The Committee will focus on activities that have prevention as their major goal.  The work of the committee will be divided into sub-groups that will concentrate in the following areas.

 

1.      Neighborhoods and local communities.  Identify needs and programs.  Life long delivery systems.

 

2.      Categorical State and Federal Programs:  Coordination.

 

3.       Labor and economic issues:  Changing demand and its effects.

 

3.       Populations in need:  Children and Youth, Black Males, Single Parents, the Aging, etc.

 

4.       Resources,  Public and Private:   to examine regional needs, existing services and

          approaches to meet unmet needs more efficiently and effectively.   

The Health and Human Service Committee is chaired by Dr. Raymond Klein.
